Open Position - Horse Trainer

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking and self-starting Horse Trainer to join our farm.  We are in the process building our operation from the ground up, including our horses.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of creating a breeding and showing operation.

 

Job Duties

  • Working and training horses

  • Maintaining the barn, and providing daily care of the horses

  • Showing horses at open (weekend shows) and national (AQHA, NRHA) shows

  • Assisting with building the breeding program

 

Job requirements

  • Need experience handling young horses, weanlings and yearlings.

  • Detail oriented, hard-working, reliable and responsible team player with a positive attitude

  • Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills

  • Experience in showing (Pro and/or Non-pro), preferably Western and Reining

  • Experience in breeding and starting and breaking foals and colts

  • Nonsmoker (including vaping) and no drug use

 

The ideal person is someone looking to be a professional horse trainer and build a horse program from the ground up. We are a team operation with everyone involved in the daily operations on the farm, including the owners.  Housing is provided.

Open Position - Barn Hand

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking and self-starting Barn Hand to join our farm.

 

Job Duties include

  • Daily Feeding and turnout (weather permitting)

  • Daily cleaning of stalls and barn

  • Applying fly spray, sheets and masks, or blankets depending on weather.

  • Assisting head trainer as needed.

 

Job requirements

  • Reliable transportation and able to drive a tractor

  • Experience handling all types of horses

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and a willingness to learn

 

Additional opportunities if willing and able include helping with fencing, building run-in sheds, cutting grass, helping with hay and general maintenance around the property.
